Accel Methodology™

During our 12 years in the corporate learning industry we have developed the CognitiveArts Accel Methodology™ -- a proven process we employ to design, deliver and evaluate learning solutions mapped to your specific business challenges and measured against your corporate objectives.

Our approach is comprised of four stages, each building from the results of the preceding stage. Throughout the process, our experts work with your internal team to ensure the resulting solution is optimized to address your unique business needs.

Stage 1: Business Strategy and Performance Needs Analysis
In the first stage, we collaborate with you to gain a clear understanding of your organization's business, strategy and the desired outcomes of that strategy that can be achieved through training. We assess current organizational and individual experience gaps to understand where improvements must occur for organizational effectiveness, and identify the business drivers that affect the various job roles and responsibilities.

 Stage 2: Experience Gap Targeting
Next, we employ a unique form of Pareto Analysis (80/20 Rule) known as Critical Mistake Targeting to unearth the key experience gaps that have the most financial impact on the organization. We also collaborate with you to determine what the real costs of those gaps are, so we can prioritize what is to be included in the learning solution (versus provided in the form of performance support materials) and to build the metrics by which training success will be evaluated. This stage culminates with the development of individual performance objectives that form the basis for the learning scenarios, and any associated support materials.

 Stage 3: Design and Development
During this stage, we build the Experience Learning Solution ™ by applying CognitiveArts' design principles and learning architectures to your specific business context. These architectures and learning models were developed through our extensive research at the Institute for the Learning Sciences at Northwestern University. By representing the ideal experiences one goes through to effectively acquire a given skill or knowledge set, these architectures are leveraged to take full advantage of how people naturally learn and speed the process of gaining valuable and practical expertise. Learners face relevant, real-world challenges where they practice skills and learn from experts in a mistake-friendly environment. This positive, engaging learning environment promotes high retention levels and results in an employee who is productive in a shorter period of time. To deploy the solution, we determine which delivery format is best -- instructor-led, e-learning or a blended approach. If there is an e-learning component, we can provide full hosting and learner management services as part of the solution, or help you conduct a pilot program for evaluation purposes prior to rollout.

 Stage 4: Measurement
Once the solution has been deployed and has been in use, we quantify the objectives outlined in the Experience Gap Targeting stage through a process we call Value-Weighted Measurement of Behavior Change. Through this process, we are able to actually calculate the extent to which the training has adjusted behavior and then translate that result into a financial measure. This stage also represents the feedback loop by which we are able to continuously enhance the learning experience and maximize the return on your learning investment.
